| Research Abstract |
大学等における脳研究を総合的に推進するためには、新しい方法論の展開の必要性から従来の研究体制にとどまらず、より普遍性を持つ研究体制を構築する必要がある。本研究は本年度(平成10年)において、脳研究における学際性という最大の特徴をふまえて、人材養成や教育の体制作り、全国の大学及び各研究所等に分散している研究者間のネットワーク作り、脳研究基盤の拡充と研究体制の形成、研究者支援体制作りなど具体的推進方策の企画・立案・実施することを提言、実行していくことを目的とする。
1) 国内外の研究動向調査と若手研究者の研究動向調査等をふまえ、我が国の若手研究者の新しい発想により今後大きく発展することが見込まれる萌芽的研究等の重要分野を提示しながら、これらの研究の推進を担う若手研究者の発掘・育成を行うために公募を行った。
2) 大学等における研究推進のために、個々の研究者のネットワークの構築と、このネットワーク化により共有すべき各種データベースの構築、関係ソフトの開発等について積極的な支援を行うための整備を行った。
3) 研究基盤の整備の一環として、実験動物、病理脳標本、各種動物脳のマップ作成、ベクターの材料等について調査研究を行った。
4) 人材養成と教育の観点からトレーニングコースの教材開発・教育プログラムの準備を行った。
5) 研究者間の国際交流・協力についての調査を行った。
