Research Abstract	本特定領域研究は、非相同的組換えに焦点を絞り、染色体のエンドジョイニングやトランスポゾンを含むいわゆる動く遺伝子の転移機構を「DNAの切断と再結合」という観点から総合的に理解しようとするものである。本年度は、11月に班会議、12月に組換えワークショップを開催し、各計画研究間の連携を諮った。班会議では、班員の池田日出男、立花章、近藤直実、大坪栄一、駒野照弥、大矢禎一、飯田滋、古賀章彦に加えて班友の小松賢志が業績の紹介を行った。この班会議と前後して、班員、或いは、班友の間でいくつかの共同研究も計画された。このような共同研究の推進によってさらに成果が上がることが期待される。「遺伝的組換えとその制御」ワークショップでは、この特定領域の関係者に加えて、さらに約100名の組換え関係者が集まり、活発な討論を展開した。班員間の連絡に関しては、サーキュラーを発行することになり、現在第4号まで発行済みである。サーキュラーはe-mailを通して各班員に配布されている。また、研究業績の公開のためにホームページの作成が行われ、本年度中に公開される予定である。班員の海外での発表も盛んで、米国サイエンス誌のミーテイングレポートの中で飯田班員のアサガオトランスポゾンに関する発表がトピックの一つとして写真入りで取り上げられた。今後は、班会議、メールによる連絡の強化、ホームページによる公開に加えて、国際シンポジウムを開催し、外国人研究者の招聘を行い、研究成果の上昇に努める。
