Research Abstract

本特定領域研究は、非相同的組換えに焦点を絞り、染色体のエンドジョイニングやトランスポゾンを含むいわゆる動く遺伝子の転移機構を「DNAの切断と再結合」という観点から総合的に理解しようとするものである。本年度は、11月に公開国際シンポジウム、2月に班会議を開催し、各計画研究間の連携を諮った。公開国際シンポジウムは、「非相同組換えの多様性:生物学から医科学へ」というタイトルのもとに国際的に活躍している3名の外国人研究者と3名の日本人研究者を迎えて、話題提供と活発な討論が行われた。参加者が100名を越える盛況となり、意義のある国際集会となった。また、班会議では、計画班員に加えて班友の小松賢志、能美健彦、総括班の関口睦夫によって最近の業績の紹介が行われた。昨年に比べて各班員の研究は著しく進展しており、この特定領域研究がこの領域の研究の発展に寄与しつつあることが明らかになった。この班会議と前後して、班員、或いは、班友の間でいくつかの共同研究も計画され、その一部も班会議において紹介された。班員の研究推進のために大型機器が購入され、今年度は北里研究所に設置された。今年度も、班員間の連絡のためにサーキュラーを発行し、また、研究業績の公開のためにホームページを更新し、公開している。今後も、班会議、メールによる連絡の強化、ホームページによる公開に加え、機械があればまた新しいテーマで公開シンポジウムを企画し、研究業績の公開を行いたいと考えている。
