Research Abstract |
We investigate the relationship between vessel contractions and free radicals using angiotensin II in the models of a mesentery vessel and a great vessel. Model of a mesentery vessel : experiment 1 ; Generally the blood flow stops under angiotensin II. In this occasion, incase of adding superoxidedismutase, the stopping time of the blood flow and the reperfusion time became short. experiment 2 ; The mesentery vessels which were extracted and incubated with MCLA gave light i.e. it meant the production of superoxide. experiment 3 ; Superoxidedismutase reduced the contraction of the vessels. These results showed that superoxide would appeared when the vessel contracted and superoxide might influence the contraction. Model of a great vessel : experiment 1 ; Angiotensin II reduced the increasing of the blood pressure. experiment 2 ; The great vessels which were extracted and incubated with MCLA gave out light. experiment 3 ; Superoxidedismutase reduced the contraction of the great vessels. These results showed that superoxide would appeared when the great vessels contracted and superoxide might influence the blood pressure. In this study we found a new knowlegement that the vessels produced the superoxide. This suggests that angiotensin II promotes the growth of the smooth muscles inside the vessel under the midiator of superoxide.
