Research Abstract |
In this survey, three techniques were investigated for seeking a actual technique for dismantling under-papering of screens, because historical documents have been found among the under-papering of screen, and demand has been arised by historians for active technique for dismantling the papering. At first aging of starch paste under low temperature, and secondly steaming within a sealed box and thirdly water and heating techniue were discussed. As a result water and heating techniue showed active effect to dismantle layers of papers used as under-papering. Giving hot water was experienced not to be effective because it cool very quickly but spray water and heat by an iron showed good effective. For heating a Teflon sheet was put on the wetted part, which prevent sticking the under-papering and the iron. And the sheet helps to hold wetted and separated pear safely. A set of under-papering of folding screen were treated with the above mentioned technique. For dismantling, a type of format for recording the separated sheets of papering was applied.
