可換Banach環及びBanach modulesの分類

Research Abstract

物を分類するとき、いくつかの条件を設定し、それらを満たすクラスを考えることによって分類するという方法があり、本研究の理念は、可換Banach環及びBanach modulesを自然な条件を設定することによって分類し、具体的な環やmoduleがどのクラスに属するか、また同じクラスに属する環やmoduleはどんな不変の性質を共有するのかを調査することによって、可換Banach環やBanach modulesの本質を探ろうとするところにあった。この理念に基づき、我々は先にBSE-環及びBSE-Banach modulesのクラスを導入し、これを研究してきた。我々は特に具体的な環として局所コンパクト可換群上のSegal環に注目し、それがBSE-環であることとそれが(Jones-Lahrの意味での)有界弱近似を有することとは同値であることを探りあてた。特に代表的なSegal環S^p(G)(p>1)及びA_p(G)(p>1)に対して調査し、Gが非局所的なら、S^p(G)上極小弱近似単位元の構成に成功した。これによってS^p(G)がBSEであることと、Gが非局所的であることは同値であることが分かった。またGが非局所的且つ非離散的なら、A_p(G)上極小弱近似単位元の構成に成功した。これによってGが非離散的無限群のとき、A_p(G)がBSEであることと、Gが非局所的であることは同値であることが分かった。以上は北大の井上純治氏の協力を得てなされたものである。
更に非離散的且つ非コンパクトな局所コンパクト可換群にはFourier-Stieltjes変換が無限遠点でゼロになり、しかも自然スペクトルを持たないものが必ず存在することを示し、Eschmier-Laursen-Neumannの問題に肯定的に答えることに成功した。
他に可換Banach環に関連したノルムに関する不等式及び等式のいろいろな性質の研究がなされた。
