Research Abstract |
The purpose of this research is to study the mechanism of mass outflow from late type stars by doing monitoring observations of water masers during several years. For this, we have observed three late type stars, such as IRC60169, VX Sgr, R Crt, by using domestic VLBI network called J Net. The data of IRC60169 and R Crt were already analyzed. We have found the new results on the life time and proper motions of water maser spots. We have already written a paper for the result of R Crt. It will be submitted soon. For the data of both IRC60169 and VX Sgr, we are now analyzing. Also we have continued the single dish monitoring observations of water maser sources by using 6m telescope at Kagoshima. These results and data are favorable for the VERA project which will start from this year. During these observations, we have discovered a spectacular flare in the water-vapor maser emission from the Orion KL by using 6m telescope. The flare continued to increase in intensity exponentially and had a flux density greater than 4x106 Jy. The results were already published. We also tried to VLBI monitoring observations of this flare by using UBA. The data were already analyzed and very interesting results are found. We are now preparing manuscript on these results. The observation of optical and infrared radiation emitted from late type stars does not make a prominent progress. However the new constructed infrared camera shows a high stability. From this April we started infrared observations.
