Research Abstract |
The purpose of this study was to establish the mix proportion principle for the concrete incorporaing large quantity of fly ash with constant cement content. The properties of fresh concrete, compressive strength and carbonation of such concretes were investigated. Many results were obtained, for example, as follows. 1. The general idea and basic equation for the mix proportion design for the concrete incor-poraing large quantity of fly ash with constant cement content was shown. 2. The relationship between the mix proportion and the properties of fresh concrete, for ex-ample ordinary concrete, middle fluidity concrete and high fluidity concrete, was clarified. 3. It was clarified that the larger the fly ash content, the larger the compressive strength co-mpared with non fly ash concrete, even in the lower temperature ambience, from early to long term. 4. The equi-potential line on compressive strength could be calculated on the basis of the experimental results. 5. The mutual influence of the consumption of Ca(OH)ィイD22ィエD2 and the reduction of voids due to the pozzolanic reaction on carbonation of concrete using large quantity of fly ash was clar-ified quantitatively. And the equi-potential line on carbonation could be calculated.
