Research Abstract	報告者は、ハスモンヨトウのかなりは台風到来時に海外から飛来してくることを支持する結果を得てきた。今年度は、ハスモンヨトウのフェロモントラップを、佐賀市、鹿児島市及び那覇市に設置し、これまでと同様な雄成虫の発生消長を調査するとともに、インドネシア、フィリッピン、台湾の各1カ所、さらに中国の3カ所にフェロモントラップによる雄成虫の発生調査を依頼した。その結果、フィリッピン、インドネシアではトラップに雄成虫はほとんど捕獲されず、台湾でも捕獲数は日本でのそれに比べてはるかに少ないという予想外の事実が得られた。報告者は、台湾での調査を平成10年10月に行ったが、野外での本種の幼虫の発生は顕著であるが、持参したフェロモントラップに捕獲される雄成虫は少ないことを確認した。こうした結果から、上述の3国に生息するハスモンヨトウは、フェロモンに対する感受性が日本で繁殖するものとは異なる地理的変異群であると推察された。一方、中国の南西部に設置したトラップでの雄成虫の発生消長は佐賀及び鹿児島市での消長とかなり類似していた。那覇市では、梅雨時に捕獲数の突発的な増加が認められた。こうした結果は、ハスモンヨトウは、梅雨前線や台風に向かって吹き込む風によって、主に中国南西部から飛来してくることを支持しており、今後さらに確証を得るための検討をつづけて行くつもりである。
