Research Abstract

Reduction reactions of organic compounds caused by under-flame reaction were performed as follows.
(1) Unsaturated amines were subjected to under-flame reaction using a hydrogen-oxygen flame to give their dimers.
(2) Hydrogenation with desulfurization of sulfur-containing amino acids, such as methionine and S-methylcysteine, was carried out by a hydrogen-oxygen flame to produce aminobutyric acid and alanine, respectively.
(3) Hydrocarboxylation of carbon-carbon double bonds in unsaturated amines and amino acids effected by a hydrogen-oxygen flame proved to show high regioselectivity and yield.
(4) Under-flame reaction using formic acid and ammonia as substrates provided a new formation reaction of glycine.
