Research Abstract |
I developed the view of life and death scale that was applicable for a wide age group from high school students to old people. In addition, I tried to categorize of the view of life and death using the scale. 1. The subjects were 516 from the high school students to old people in order to extract the items of the scale, and 132 codes were extracted from 2169 descriptions. 2. The investigation was carried out on 132 items for 476 persons. The examination of distribution and factor analysis extracted 49 of 132 items. 3. Three hundred twenty three persons answered the draft of the view of life and death scale from 49 items. The factor analysis extracted 6 factors which consist of the 42 items. Cronbach' α reliability coefficient of the 6 factors was 0.83, 0.85, 0.81, 0.76, 0.64, 0.65. There was some coincidence of them in the comparison between 6 factors and the reported scale. The results supported reliability and validity of the scale. 4. I developed the view of life and death scale which finally consisted of the 6 factors of the 35 items using corrected scale. The subjects, 952 persons were composed of the high school students, university students, nursing students, nurses, and adults except for the medical job. It was proved that multiple patterns were in the view of life and death as a result of examining the relation between scale score and age, group.
