Research Abstract |
1) Immunohistochemical study on the distribution of neurons and ganglia in the tunica muscularis and submucosal layer of the abomasum of healthy dairy cattle : The distribution of the myenteric and submucosal ganglia and neurons in the abomasum of four clinically healthy dairy cows were investigated using immunohistochemistry (PGP9.5, NFP and SP). Nerve cell bodies and fibers immunoreactive for PGP 9.5 was high density and well dispered from submucosa to serosa. 2) Immunohistochemical study on the nerve system in abomasum of vagotomized dairy calves : Total vagotomy for short period in 3-4 days was relative impaired to network nerve compare with long period until 14 days. Partial vagotomy was not so damage to nerve system in abomasum. 3) Immunohistochemical study on the nerve system in abomasum with abomasal disorders of dairy cattle : PGP 9.5 immunoreactivity was low density with variation result in all of abomasal disorders, eventhough torsion was more severely injured than LDA and RDA. The extrinsic factor from damaged nerves in tunica muscularis as an essential prerequisite of abomasal disorders, then the intrinsic factor such as diet, postpartrient diseases and disturbances in other organs will precede to occur abomasal displacement and impaction.
