細菌感染症発症機構の分子生物学的手法による解析とその治療への応用

Research Abstract

平成10年9月24日〜25日に、全研究班員が岡山に集合し1泊2日の研究会を開催した。各人が本年度の研究内容を約30分程発表し、ついで10〜20分間程討論を行った。討論の内容は実験手技、結果に対するもののみでなく、治療や予防への応用、あるいは生命現象との関わりに注目し、特定領域研究への発展ができるかの点も検討した。各人の研究成果として、ポツリヌス菌、ウェルシュ菌、ジフテリア菌、大腸菌、ピロリ菌の産生する各毒素の構造と機能の解析、赤痢菌やリステリア菌の細胞内侵入機構の解析、細菌としては初めてのcADPR合成酵素の発見、内毒素や細菌感染により生じる免疫異常反応の解析、腸球菌の薬剤耐性機序の解析、ボツリヌス中毒や0157感染症に対する予防ワクチンの開発、ヒト好中球が産生するcap18あるいは大黄由来抗菌活性物質の治療への応用など、多くの知見が発表された。特定領域研究への応募に関しては本年度は見送るが、今後は、1)毒素の作用機構を利用した、生体でのシグナル伝達、細胞の増殖や構築あるいは物質の取込み、輸送、分泌システムなどの解析、2)細菌感染より惹起される免疫異常により発症する疾患の解析、3)新しい発想(方法)による効果的なワクチンの開発、4)抗生物質のみに頼らない治療法の開発、などに焦点を合わせた研究を、これまで以上に班員外の研究者とも共同研究を進めること、また、これまでのように、班員全員で特定領域に応募するのではなく、上記のテーマの中から、その成果および将来への展望が飛躍的に望まれるものを選定して行う、ということを決定した。
