| Research Abstract |
本年度の成果は次の4つである。
(1)2001年3月末から4月始めにかけて、太陽表面で巨大なフレアが何度か発生した。それに伴い、中性子が我々の太陽中性子望遠鏡で観測された。
(2)2001年9月24日の太陽フレアでチベットに設置されている太陽中性子望遠鏡が極めて珍しいイベントを見つけた。(1)のフレアに伴って生成された中性子は電子が加速された時と同時に生成されていたが、(2)の9月24日のイベントでは中性子は独立に作られていた。
(3)乗鞍に設置されている我々の観測装置で雷雲中の強い磁場で電子が加速されている証拠が見つかった。
(4)そして新たに太陽中性子望遠鏡をメキシコに設置するため、我々はその準備に入った。
科研費は(1)〜(3)の研究成果の発表と、(4)の装置の製作費に使用した。
2001年9月24日のイベントでは「ようこう」衛星のハードX線検出器にはX線は測定されておらず、中性子だけが検出された。太陽表面での粒子加速理論の解明にとって非常に重要な発見である。
