Research Abstract	・「The 8th U.S.-Japan Workshop on Earthquake Resistant Design of Lifeline Facilities and Countermeasures against Liquef action」を2002年12月16,17,18日の3日間東京において開催し,日米両国における研究成果の発表および今後の日米共同研究の方針についての討議を行った.日米からの出席者はそれぞれ約100名および30名で,50編の研究報告がなされ,活発な質疑応答が行われた.ワークショップのプロシィーディングスは米国のMulti-Disciplinary Center for Earthquake Engineering Researchより平成14年度中に出版される予定である.ワークショップでの主要な議題は1.Liquefaction 2.Permanent Ground Displacement 3.Lifeline 4.Earthquake Ground Motion 5.Earthquake Resistant Designである. ・重力場および遠心載荷場における杭に作用する流動外力特性の実験から,完全液状化状態では流体力が,不完全液状化状態では地盤変位に起因する外力が作用することが明らかにされた.
