| Research Abstract |
主たる活動と成果
アルファ計算機を導入し北極海モデル構築を開始した。また同計算機を使用してデータ解析を行い、近年の北極海における海氷減少を、冬の雲増加と夏の雲減少によって説明することを試みた。アラスカから北太平洋にかけて中心をもつ、20から50年周期の大気変動が北半球全域の現象であることを示した。北極海における「みらい」航海では同位体データを収集し、太平洋セクターの水塊解析と海氷生成融解量の推定をおこなった。バルト海における海氷観測、サロマ湖の氷上観測では、大気海洋熱フラックスの観測をおこない、これらのパラメータ化を試みた。さらにバフィン湾のポリニア観測、サロマ湖の氷上観測で植物プランクトンを収集し、その分析するために高速液体クロマトグラフィーを導入し分析を開始した。
