Research Abstract |
THE MAIN OBJECTIVE OF THIS RESEARCH IS TO DETERMINE HOW THE NEW ETHICS AND SENSE OF VALUES UNDERLYING THE PHILOSOPHIES EMBODIED BY SOCIAL DEMOCRATIC THINKING OR SUCHLIKE JAPANESE NEW ASSOCIATIONIST MOVEMENTS, AFFECT THE CONCEPT OF INDIVIDUAL AND SOCIETAL GROWTH (INCLUDING EDUCATION) AND THE POLITICS OF THE EU, THEIR RIVALS -JAPAN AND THE USA, AS WELL AS NATIONS OF THE THIRD WORLD. THE PRECEPTS OF SOCIAL DEMOCRATIC THINKING ARE CONSIDERED TO BE AS FOLLOWS : AS 80% OF WESTERN EUROPEAN EU COUNTRIES CURRETLY SUPPORT MODERATE LEFT-WING PARTIES AND SOCIAL DEMOCRATIC GOVERNMENTS, SOCIAL DEMOCRATIC THINKING HAS BEEN COMMONLY ACCEPTED AS THE FUNDAMENTAL "PRINCIPLE OF LIFE, THOUGHT AND ACTION FOR ALL GLOBAL SOCIETY IN THE 21TH COUNTRY" INOUE HAD INITIALLY DECIDED TO BEGIN RESEARCH BY GATHERING PRELIMINARY DATA ON EDUCATIONAL POLICY TRENDS IN EU COUNTRIES. TOGETHER WITH GRIEK AND LEVI ALVARES, INOUE CONDUCTED FACT-FINDING INVESTIGATIONS CN THE NETHERLANDS AND IN FRANCE OVER THE 2-YEAR PERIOD FROM

1999 TO 2000. THESE INVESTIGATIONS FOCUSED ON THE IMPLEMENTATION OF EDUCATIONAL POLICIES COMPLIANT WITH BOTH EUROPEAN UNIFICATION AND SOCIAL DEMOCRATIZATION. THE QUALITY OF THIS RESEARCH WAS ENHANCED SUBSTANTIALLY DUE TO THE INTERNATIONAL PARTICIPATION AND COOPERATION OF THE SENIOR RESEARCHERS IN THE DUTCH MINISTRY OF EDUCATION, AND THE OBSERVATOIRE EUROPEEN DES INNOVATIONS EN EDUCATION ET EN FORMATION IN FRANCE AS WELL AS PROFESSORS IN THEIR UNIVERSITIES. IN ADDITION, THE NETHERLANDS WAS POSITIONED AS THE PRIMARY SOCIAL MODEL FOR THE SUBJECT OF THIS RESEARCH PROJECT, DUE TO ITS ACCOMPLISHMENT OF THE "DUTCH MIRACLE". THIS SUCCESS IN THE NETHERLANDS WAS ACHIEVED THROUGH A 15-YEAR IMPLEMENTATION OF UNIQUE ECONOMIC REVITALIZATION MEASURES BEGINNING IN 1982, WHICH STIMULATED THE MOTIVATION AND CREATIVITY OF EACH INDIVIDUAL. THESE MEASURES ALSO INCLUDED A SPECIAL METHOD OF CONCENSUS BASED ON AGREEMENT AMONG THREE PARTNERS -GOVERNMENT, LABOR AND EMPLOYERS-AS WELL AS INCORPORATING CONSIDERATIONS FOR UNDERPRIVILEGED PERSONS HOWEVER, THIS POTICO-ECONOMIC AND EDUCATIONAL EMVIRONMENT IN THE WORLD HAS CHANGED SIGNIFICANTLY SINCE THE SIMULTANEOUS TERROLIST ATTACKS IN THE UNITED STATES ON SEPTEMBER 11^<TH> 2001. BESIDES, NEO-LIBERAL OR NEO-CONSERVATIVE POLICY MAKERS PROCLAIM AN EGOCENTRIC NATIONALISM AND TRADITIONAL MORALS, AND PROMOTE STATE-CENTERED EDUCATION. INDEED SOCIAL DEMOCRATIC TRENDS SEEM TO HAVE CEASED TO DEVELOP ACROSS THE WORLD, BUT OUR SEARCH FOR INTERNATIONAL ETHICS PERTAINING TO ASPECTS OF POLICIES, ECONOMICS, INDUSTRY, EDUCATION AND CULTURE IN THE INTERDEPENDENT SOCIETIES OF THE 21TH CENTURY WOULD BE CONTINUED Less
