| Research Abstract |
The following research activities were performed on the basis of the subject of "Comprehensive investigation and research on the historical Japanese language materials of possession to the esoteric Buddhism temple which exists in Kinki district" as research in fiscal 1999 to fiscal 2002. The investigators and the research cooperator did investigation and research of the possession materials of Kozan-ji temple,To-ji Kanchi-in, Daitu-ji temple and Ishiyama-dera temple jointly. It was done once or twice in one year in fiscal 1999 to fiscal 2002.The research result report was edited in March, 2003. The investigators reported the research result according to the role assignment. The research cooperator reported the research result from a special position. The report of the research result in a research period is as having carried in the research result report. Though as a result of the investigation research, got and new knowledge is large in number, for example, it comes out like the following, and there is. 1,Guiding marks for rendering Chinese into Japanese written in Heian age's Buddhist scriptures is related to note activity of Buddhist scriptures. 2, Chinese classic materials possessed in esoteric Buddhism temple has carefully been classified and has been arranged. This fact is by far more careful than considering since a past. 3,There is often that the old manuscript of Buddhist scriptures in the abroad was the possession of esoteric Buddhism temple in Kinki district in a past.
In the future, the prospect that the historical research of Japanese language would greatly develop was obtained by minutely investigating the material of esoteric Buddhism temple holding.
