Research Abstract	佐伯は4次元多様体から3次元空間への折り目写像について詳しく調べ,今までに知られていなかった特殊な性質を持つ折り目写像の構成に成功した.さらに,与えられた4次元多様体が3次元空間への折り目写像を許容するための必要十分条件についても研究を行い,かなり精密な結果を得ることができた.佐久間は特にホモロジーの条件が満たされない場合にも似たような結果が得られることを示した. 菅野は局所ミラー対称性の視点から5次元超対称ゲージ理論の研究を行った.特に,ある種の楕円曲線の族を考え,5次元超対称ゲージ理論のプレポテンシャルを計算した.この結果をコンパクト化して4次元超対称ゲージ理論と関係づけることによってサイバーグ・ウィッテン理論に対する新しい見方が得られた. 寺垣内は3次元多様体内の双曲型結び目に沿ってのデーン手術の研究を行い,結び目の種数が小さいときに結果を得た.また任意の整数がある双曲型結び目の例外的デーン手術のスロープとして実現可能であることも証明した. 高田は,与えられた向き付け可能閉多様体が,コボルディズムを法としてどれほど低い次元のユークリッド空間に埋め込むことができるかを考察し,すべての次元について最良の結果を得ることができた. 河本はループ空間の高次ホモトピー可換性についての研究を行い,そうした性質を備えた空間のホモトピー型を,コホモロジー環が有限生成であるという仮定のもとで,ほぼ完全に分類する結果を得た. 今後は,複雑な特異点の消去のための障害について調べることと,多様体や写像の不変量を見出すことが課題であるが,そのためには特異点のみでなく,特異ファイバーの挙動や,ジェット空間のホモトピー型に注目することも必要であることが本年度の研究で明らかとなった.これについて詳しく調べてゆくのが今後の研究課題の一つである.
