| Research Abstract |
申請者らのグループが発見したマウスPaired Immunoglobulin-like Receptor(PIR)とその近縁分子gp49の生理的リガンドが何であるか,そして生体内でのPIR,gp49の機能は何かが注目されており,本研究ではこれまで機能未知であったPIRについてその生理的,病理的意義を明らかにする.申請者らはマウスFc受容体分子群の研究を行う過程で予期せぬ分子群であるPIRを発見し,これらがキラー受容体分子群と近縁関係にあることを見い出した.これとほぼ時期を同じくして発見されたヒトのILT分子群,また長い間その機能が不明で注目されていなかったマウスgp49分子群もこの仲間であることが分かり,キラー受容体分子群,ILT/PIR,gp49のそれぞれの機能は何か,そして機能分担がどのように行われているのかが現在世界的に注目されている.ノックアウトマウスを作製し,生理機能の解明を進めているが,本年は特に,PIRがB細胞のシグナル伝達に対して負の制御を行っていることを発見し,抗体産生などの免疫応答にどのような負の制御効果を及ぼしているのかを解析中である.
