Research Abstract |
RESEARCHES ON THE LOCALIZATION OF, NITRIC OXIDE SYNTHASE (NOS) AND ITS INHIBITORY PROTEINS, CAVEOLINS, IN THE HUMAN GENITO-URINARY ORGANS. 1) LOCALIZATION OF CAVEOLINS AND NOS IN THE HUMAN PENILE CAVERNOUS SMOOTH MUSCLE : CAVEOLIN-1 LOCALIZED IN CORPUS CAVERNOUS SMOOTH MUSCLE, ENDOTHELIAL CELLS OF CEVERNOUS BODY, AND ADVENTITIA OF PENILE VESSLES. CAVEOLIN-3 LOCALIZED IN THE MEDIA AND ADVENITIA OF PENILE VESSELS, AND THE DISTRIBUTION WAS SIMILAR THOSE OF NADPH-DIAPHORASE STAINING. LNGFR-POSITIVE FIBERS ABUNDANTLY LOCALIZED IN VASCULAR WALL AND CAVERNOUS BODY, AND ITS DISTRIBUTION WAS DIFFERENT FROM NOS. THESE DATA SUGGESTS THAT LNGFR-POSITIVE NERVE FIBERS ARE DIFFERENT FROM NOS-POSITIVE NERVES, AND MAY BE AFFERENT NERVES.
