Research Abstract	本研究では、インターネットの急速な普及という情報社会の現状を鑑み、流暢な訳文の生成より、外国語情報をすばやく母国語で拾い読みすることを機械翻訳の目的とする考えに基づき、複雑な構文解析や意味解析などは行わず、スーパー関数に基づく日・中・英多国語機械翻訳の構築技術及びこの翻訳エンジンを用いた多国語情報検索方法に関する研究を行う。則ち、本研究はスーパー関数の理論モデルの導出・日・中・英スーパー関数の定義と抽出、コーパスからのスーパー関数の自動獲得、そしてスーパー関数に基づく多国語翻訳と情報検索手法の開発などを目的とする。今年度では、以下のような研究を行い、計画の目標を達成した。 1.日本語と英語のコーパスを収集し、文単位のアライメントを行った。収集したコーパスはテキストの対応が行われたが、文の対応が行っていないので、そのままスーパー関数を抽出できない。開発したアライメント方法では統計的な情報と辞書情報を利用した。 2.収集したコーパスを解析し、実験用の日英スーパー関数を抽出した。スーパー関数の獲得は将来に自動的に行われるが、現段階では、半自動化に行われるので、支援ツールを開発した。 3.英語から日本語を生成する手法を検討し、スーパー関数との照合方法を開発した。スーパー関数方法では重要なのは如何に効率的な照合手法を開発するかであるが、今年度では、特別表を制定し、関数と文型の照合が容易に行われる。 4.スーパー関数の応用として、日本語と中国語の自動要約研究を行った。統計的な情報と文書の構造特徴を利用した自動要約手法を開発し、テストを行い、その有効住を確認することができた。 5.日英機械翻訳実験システムを構築し、日英機械翻訳実験を行った。 6.Webで利用可能なスーパー関数翻訳エンジンを開発した。
