Research Abstract |
Almost all villages of the Amami Islands were investigated, and a large amount of data were gathered. The main findings are as follows : (1) All the dialects of Sumiyo and Yamato have accent distinctions. (2) The Higashi-ku dialect of Yoron has a multi-pattern accent system.
