Research Abstract	本年度はノイズ低減手法を衛星画像に適応した応用例として、土地被覆分類に研究の中心を置いた。衛星データにより土地被覆をクラスタ化あるいは判別するためにマルコフ確率場に基づく手法が応用されはじめている。この手法はカテゴリを与えた観測データの条件付分布は独立であるという非現実的な仮定を前提にする。本研究では条件付分布が空間相関を持ち、カテゴリの配置に対してマハラノビス距離による罰則を付けた尤度を目的関数として判別することを提案した。さらにシミュレーションデータ及び実データで従来手法より優れていることを示した。また本手法は教師データとしてミクセルを利用でき、ピュアセルだけの教師データよりミクセルの混合比率の推定に有効であることを示した。衛星画像に関連する研究としては次の成果を得た。異なる衛星センサはもちろん同一のセンサでも解像度が異なる場合が多い。そこで画像を融合する手法として、マルチスペクトルデータの空間相関を利用したコクリギングによる手法を提案し、広く用いられている色のHSV変換を用いた手法より優れていることを示した(国際会議での招待講演)。また、ある小領域の森林比率を目的変数、人口とその起伏量を説明とする空間相関を持つ非線型回帰モデルを探索し、微分方程式から得られるモデルが最もふさわしいことを示した。
