Research Abstract |
The results of the research is as follows. (1) The divided projection method has been introduced in order to enlarge the rapid prototyping object without degradation of the resolution. The procedure is that after the cross section picture on the screen of the computer is divided into any number, the projected picture is compounded on the surface of the photosensitive resin by moving the prototyping XY stage. This method can make any size of model without degradation of the resolution. (2) As an application of medical three dimensional structure, an electrical moving pump for artificial heart has been fabricated by the rapid prototyping system. From the result, it has been shown that the propeller and the casing of the pump having the complex three dimensional structure can be constructed in a short time, and the system is a very essential tool for developing the study of artificial heart. (3) A μ-total analysis (μ-TAS) chip has been fabricated by the developed rapid prototyping for proving the possibility of production in a miniature size. The micro channel of 80 μm wide and 400 μm high for electrophoresis is formed using the projected picture with the pixel resolution of 15 μm square. (4) As a photosensitive resin, a visual light sensitive resin was tested. From this result, it has been shown that a metal halide lamp is acceptable as the light source instead of a super high pressure mercury lamp and the projector with DMD can be used as the non scanning rapid prototyping system as it is.
