Research Abstract |
The crystal orientation is one of the most crucial factors to determine the electric, magnetic and mechanical properties, etc., so that the development of crystal alignment methods in each process has been desired. As in general, materials have different magnetic susceptibilities depending on the crystal orientation, the utilization of this property enables us to establish crystal alignment methods. Solidification process of Fe-C alloy, electrodeposition and vapordepositiopn processes and graphitization process of carbon fiber were carried out under a high magnetic field and the crystal orientation of deposited graphite in Fe-C alloy and deposited films obtained in the electrodeposition and vapordepositiopn process were studied and the strength of carbon fibers in the latter process was examined. The possibility of the crystal orientation has been found in the solidification and electrodeposition and vapordepositiopn processes and the carbon fibers have been strengthend in the graphitization process of carbon fiber.
