Research Abstract |
The cerebral brood flow (CBF) was measured in 7 children with craniosynostosis. The quantitative measurement of CBF was performed with using stable Xe-CT at rest and the after acetazolamide administration. Seven children have been carried out total cranial reconstruction ranging in age from 6 months to 4years old. We evaluated the hemodynamic changes and clinical features including the developmental quotient, and intracranial pressure. 1) There were significant improvements of CBF in frontal robe, frontal white matter, and whore brain after surgical treatment. Acetazolamide reactivity was also increased in basal ganglia, occipital lobe, and whole brain. 2) Five of seven children underwent follow-up studies 1 year after surgery. It indicated that CBF of thalamus increased remarkably. 3)We evaluated the timing of surgical treatment. Five children who underwent total cranial reconstruction Less than 1 year old indicated that significant increase of CBF in frontal lobe. Developmental quotient shows improvement of verbal, and social activity after surgical treatment. It is possible to construct the three-dementional CBF image with using Helical CT scan since fast year. We could measure, and construct three-dementional CBF image in one case of craniosynostosis, 2 cases of Arachnoid cyst, and 3 cases of Sturge-Weber syndrome. We made sure that the values of CBF from three-dementional image are the same as that from two-dementinal
