| Research Abstract |
本研究プロジェクトは佐賀大学理工学部側5名、イーストアングリア大学(UEA)ケミカルサイエンスッスクール側6名によって当初組織された。しかしながら、双方の研究機関の多くの他の研究者、大学院生のプロジェクトへの参画により、予想以上の成果を上げた。
佐賀大学からUEAへの派遣研究者は教授、助教授、助手を含め、延べ10名、UEAからの招聘研究者は8名であり、日本人大学院生の派遣3名、UEAの大学院生の招聘(1ヵ月間)1名にのぼっている。派遣された1名の大学院生はUEAに半年間滞在し、UEAで教育を受けながら研究活動をおこなった。また、この間、国際シンポジウムを3回開催し、多くの研究者、大学院生の参加を得て、充実した討論が英語により行われた。特に日本人大学院生の英語による研究発表はUEA研究者の賞賛を受け、研究者、技術者を目指す若者に多大な刺激を与えた。さらに、双方の研究機関における個別のセミナーは20回以上を数え、共同研究の下地になった。
共同研究の具体的成果もあらわれ、生体関連分子の会合解離反応の速度論的研究がまとまり、日本化学会の欧文誌に3月に掲載された。有機合成、ペプチド合成、生体機能物質の特性評価、錯体の合成と物性評価等の共同研究も幅広く進められており、今後の進展が大いに期待される。今回参画した双方の研究機関の研究者がこの3年間に発表した研究論文は膨大であり、本プロジェクトの効果が果した役割は多きい。
