Research Abstract |
In this research we mainly considered on Kyoto Prefecture, Shiga Prefecture and City of Kyoto for their retail sales activities. To promote our research we co-operated each local government officers to get current regulatory activities on retail sales especially regulation on big stores. While we engaged in this research project, regulation procedure on big stores had changed at the same time Japanese retail sales activities has changed. On regulation procedure, it has been liberalized from traditional regulation oriented way to as long as big stores are accommodated surrounding environment. However, this new procedure has not been established yet, thus we studied together with local government offices and other region's procedures. On retail sales activities, within last couple of years, several big corporations which had dominated recent retail sales activities has bankrupted or required heavy rebuilding program. To understand those changes in retail sales activities we engaged statistical analysis of regional retail sales activities. Then we chose main target area as Fushimi area in city of Kyoto and downtown of City of Kusatsu. We engaged several researches on these areas. We did traffic research on both walkers and car users. Then we asked several questions for each area's visitors on their shopping activities in total and regional shopping activities. Also, we asked regional residents for their shopping activities in total. In our research repot, we corvine those result all together. We are going to continue this research with our universities fund, then refine those results, and try to derive meaningful conclutions more.
