Research Abstract	1.総括班会議平成14年度の総括班の企画として、6月に国際会議を三島で、10月に全体会議と総括班会議を、第4回の公開シンポジウムを1月に東京で行った。国際会議では、海外から約30名、国内から120名の参加し、本特定領域の研究課題について活発に討論が行われた。本国際会議の発表を基にJ.Macromolecular Science Phys.Edに特集号を発行する。全体会議では、本研究員全員が研究成果の報告(ニュースレターNo.7)が活発に行われた。第4回の公開シンポジウムでは、3年間の本研究成果(ニュースレターNo.8)を各班長が発表した。 2.各研究班の研究実績 (1)結晶化前の揺籃期と結晶核生成機構高分子の融液からの核生成誘導期における核生成のX線小角散乱による直接観察に初めて成功した。高速温度ジャンプ法により、溶融したアイソタクチックポリプロピレン(iPP)を急冷することにより非晶と結晶との中間的な構造(メゾ相)へ転移する瞬間の顕微鏡撮影に成功した。 (2)高分子鎖の拡散機構と結晶化機構 1,4-トランス-ポリブタジエンの結晶機構において、サーマルラフニングで成長面がラフな場合にも成長速度の過冷却依存性が核形成律速型でることを明らにした。ポリフッ化ビニリデン球晶の成長速度は、結晶化温度に依存して、およそ9000倍も変化し、この現象を説明するため、エントロピー障壁論に基づく新しい高分子結晶成長モデルを提案した。拡散律速凝集体(DLA)が、ポリエチレンオキシドをアルカリハライド結晶の上に溶液から成長させたときに形成されることを見出した。 (3)配向結晶化機構と高次構造制御高分子フィルム成形プロセスにおける高次構造形成挙動を明らかにするために、iPPを用いてインフレーション成形を行い、オンライン3次元複屈折解析を行った。ラセミ体ポリ乳酸の高速溶融紡糸において、巻取速度の増加と共にα晶が減少し,ステレオコンプレックス(SC)晶が増大する事を見出した。
