Research Abstract |
Screw carrier style tubular carbonization furnace, which specialized in the broiler excrement, was manufactured experiment ably. A drying feeder that additionally equipped on the carbonization furnace for utilizing the waste heat improved thermal efficiency and carbonization speed to 350 kg/hr (products charcoal 70 kg/hr) of the processing speed. The charcoal manufacturing cost by this carbonization furnace became \2,900/m^3 and this cost was well acceptable as substitution bedding because sawdust bedding price is usually \3,700/m^3. Measurement of toxic substances, such as dioxins at the time of charcoal manufacture, was requested to the public organization and performed. Measured values of the total dioxin (dioxin + coplanar PCB) were 0.08ng-TEQ/m3N, dust concentration 0.014g/m3N, and hydrogen chloride concentration 140mg/m3N means our furnace is completely satisfied the environmental criteria. The broiler breeding examination was performed summer and winter in the Saga National Institute of Animal Industry using recycling bed, which mixed the manufactured charcoal with saw dust. The breeding examination was made duplex of 40 broilers, and performed breeding for 56 days using the mixture bed (25 % and 50 % charcoal) and a control (only saw dust). As the result, breeding result (weight gain, feed demand rate, rearing rate, disassembly result, OPG, Escherichia coli county number) of the mixing bedding ward was not inferior for the control, and the effectiveness as recycling bedding was confirmed.
