Research Abstract	複合ペロブスカイト型圧電単結晶Pb(In_<1/3>Nb_<2/3>)O_3-PbTiO_3(PIN-PT)系の育成をフラックス法で行い、得られた単結晶試料が医療画像用振動子材料として重要な電気機械結合係数k_<33>^78%を有することを見出し、この値は250度以上の高いキュリー温度(Tc)を有する圧電単結晶材料の内では最も大きな電気機械結合係数k_<33>^である。更にこの電気機械結合係数k_<33>^*の温度特性が200度までの高温で僅か5%しか減少しないことを見出した。これは現在実用化の最も進んだ圧電単結晶材料Pb(Zn_<1/3>Nb_<2/3>)O_3 -PbTiO_3の有効温度範囲85度を遥かに凌いでいる。また設備備品である熱分析装置TGA-DTAを用い融解曲線を調べ、高温X線回折法を用いて、ペロブスカイト相の温度に伴う安定性等の熱力学的考察からPIN-PT圧電単結晶がPb(Mg_<1/3>Nb_<2/3>)O_3 -PbTiO_3型の合致溶融化合物である事を見出した。この様な熱力学的データを基に、フラックス法よりも再現性において優れた、実用的ブリジマン法を用いてPIN-PT圧電単結晶の育成に初めて成功した。更に、PIN-PTのTcよりも更に高いPZT並のTc温度を有する圧電単結晶材料Pb(Yb_<1/3>Nb_<2/3>)O_3-PbTiO_3(PYN-PT)の育成にもフラックス法を用いて成功した。まだ組成もモルフォトロピック相境界近傍の一部でしかないが、今後のブリジマン法への展開と併せて、3次元医療動画像分野への基本圧電材料の一つとしての貢献が期待される。
