Research Abstract

本研究の目的は、高解像度壁掛けディスプレイワイヤレス駆動システムを、高速性を有するミリ波電磁波をもとに構築することにある。一般にハイビジョン信号をデジタル化し、R(赤色)、G(緑色)、B(青色)からなる3原色信号を時分割多重化したSDI規格信号では、そのビットレートは1.4Gb/sにも達する。従って、本研究においてはミリ波の超高速デジタル変調技術が最重要開発課題となるが、我々がこれまで提案・開発してきた、高性能ミリ波集積回路用NRDガイド(非放射性誘電体線路)を用いた変調器では400Mb/sのビットレートに対して十分余裕のある高速性を示すことが実証されている。本研究ではこの技術をさらに発展させ、1.4Gb/sを越える性能を有すミリ波変調器を試作することに成功した。関連するミリ波回路やアンテナもすべてNRDガイドで構成するが、各回路素子に対しても高速・広帯域性を重視し、堅牢小型、かつ安価なミリ波回路を開発した。特にアンテナは、1対多端末の通信回線を想定し、アンテナのビーム幅を2゜から120゜まで広範に変えることができるアンテナの構成法を考案した。またミリ波回路とディスプレイドライバ信号とのインターフェースも本研究の重要なテーマであり、そのためのデジタル信号処理及び関連するMMIC(マイクロ波モノリシック集積回路)の開発も併せて行い、論理記述言語によるLSI設計などの基礎研究に関してあらたな知見を得た。
今後これらの成果を更に発展させ、民生用機器として普及させるための実用化研究を行い、将来のISDN(Integrated Services Digital Network)やISDB(Integrated Services Digital Broadcasting)におけるシステム応用に寄与して行きたい。
