Research Abstract |
The purpose of this project was 1) to develop the new instrument by which we can apply the positive and negative pressure on lower body in humans and simultaneously change the body angle by automatic regulation, 2) to explore the possibility of the application by using this instrument for the future exercise science. New multifunctional lower body pressure device was made. The feature of this was 1) to apply 50mmHg positive and negative pressure, 2) to change the angle form -10 degree to +90 degree by electric motor driven, 3) to be equipped with electric-magnetic braked bicycle ergometer. By using this device, we investigate the differences of blood flow regulation between upper limb and lower limb in the situation in which the central blood volume of 8 subjects was reduced. It was found that the responses of the vasoconstriction were different between upper and lower limbs. The results were presented in annual meeting of Japanese society of physical fitness and sports medicine and will be presented in Experimental Biology 2002 in USA.
