Research Abstract

本研究ではアジアの稀少民族と、地域示準民族、特に同地域における基層民族に近いものに焦点を当てた試料収集・細胞の保存・株化・性状解析をおこなう。さらに、ヒトの多様性や適応現象の比較研究対象としてアジアの霊長類マカクの調査を推進し、生命科学諸分野で活用できる人類共通の財産とする。
1)狩猟採集民(マニ)に関しては、平成14年6月にタイ南部パタニにおいて開催された国際会議において外国人研究協力者のデュアンチャン・パイブンが言語について、代表者が生物学的特徴について発表をした。
2)昨年度より手がけたタイ南部の漂海民については、モーケンとオランラウトが共存するプーケ島において人口動態等の調査をおこなった。
3)民族疫学的視点から、タイ南部に高発するTリンパ腫について、宿主の持つ遺伝的多様性について検討した。
4)皮膚色・毛色変異の観点から、小型類人猿のテナガザルの調査をタイ東北部の動物園でおこなった。関連遺伝子の検索をすすめた結果、ASIP遺伝子に大きな違いがあることが判明した。
