Research Abstract	本研究では幼児の言語発達における初期語彙の獲得を調査した。これまで提案された語彙の発達に関与する不偏的な領域固有制約、および言語タイプ(語順、動詞活用屈折)という二つの要因に加え、初期語彙が実際の言語入力という第三の原因の影響を検証する。これは、母親が子供に対してしようする言語に含まれる情報が、子供の名詞バイアスを形成する環境を整えるのである。調査した結果、母親の言語入力が子供の言語発達に応じて一時的に変化し、子供の語彙獲得に対して、母親の言語使用が有効に引き金となることが明らかになった。本来動詞中心の日本語の場合には、母親の言語は子供の言語発達段階に合わせて、動詞中心から名詞中心に使用が変化することが確認できた。このような名詞中心の言語入力が日本語の子供の場合でもの名詞バイアスを生み出すということおがうまく説明できる。さらに、母親の名詞使用移行時期と幼児の名詞使用比率の急増には相関が見られたのに対して、一部の例外的な母親の事例が見られた。この母親の場合では名詞使用への移行が全く見られなく、子供の言語発達段階に影響されず、動詞中心の言語使用が続いた。一方ではその子供は、一般的な文法発達が早いのにも関わらず、ほかの子供と違い、名詞の急増がなく、名詞語彙がほかの子供より極めて少ないことが確認された。この現象の原因として母親の子供への接し方を調べている途中結果として、母親の言語使用が子供の発達段階に合わせて、名詞中心に変化するだけではなく、一般的にreferentialな言語使用に変化することが明らかになりつつある。名詞中心の言語使用の母親が名詞を多く使うだけではなく、物について説明したり、その名称を聞き出したりする。それに対して、動作の説明やその名称の聞き出しがほとんど行われていないようである。このようなスペーチパターンが子供の言語獲得に影響し、名詞への片寄りを作り出すことが考えられる。
