| Research Abstract |
3次元球面S^3内の結び目Kに対して、Kの1本橋種数をg_1(K)とかく。また、2つの結び目K_1,K_2に対して、その連結和をK_1#K_2とかく。結び目Kの外部E(K)が本質的な閉局面をもたないときKをsmallと呼び、E(K)がメリディアン的本質的曲面をもたないとき、Kをm-smallと呼ぶ。このときP.Hoidnは、K_1,K_2がともにsmallならば、g_1(K_1#K_2)【greater than or equal】g_1(K_1)+g_1(K_2)-1が成り立つことを示した。そこで今回の研究ではこれを拡張し、K_1,K_2がともにm-smallならば、g_1(K_1#K_2)【greater than or equal】g_1(K_1)+g_1(K_2)-1が成り立つことを示した。
