Research Abstract	1.独立成分分析(ICA)と構造方程式モデリング(SEM)に関する国際会議を大阪大学コンベンションセンターにおいて2001年7月に開催した.同会議は,計量心理学会国際大会(IMPS2001)と同時開催し,IMPS2001の中の2つのセッションとして実行された.招待講演者として,A. Hyvarinen(フインランド),S. Akaho(電総研), M. Minami(統計数理研究所),P. Bentler(米国),Sik-Yum Lee(香港),A. Mooijaart(オランダ)を招聘した. SEMから発せられた検証的分析の考え方を如何にICAに組み込むか,という課題について議論した.両セッションとも参加人数が多く盛況であった.なお,P. Bentler氏は本研究課題における海外共同研究者である. 2.国際会議における我々のグループの貢献は以下のとおりである.村田はICAのセッションチェアを担当した.狩野は共同研究者とともに共同研究の成果を4件発表した.特に,変数選択とICAについて60分の特別招待講演を行った. Kano-Azumaでは誤差共分散の独立性についての吟味方法として,SEMのソフトウェアを用いた新しい方法論を展開した. Shimizu-Kanoでは,ICAの社会科学における適用可能性を広げるときに重要な問題になる,抽出された成分の独立性の吟味方法について,新しい方法論を提案した. Harada-Kanoでは,因子分析における共通性の新しい検定方法を提案しソフトウェア化を行った.市川はSEMにおいてbootstrap法の適用可能性について講演した. 3.様々なアイデアが交換された国際会議であったが,その終了後,それらの議論を基礎にして公刊論文の執筆を行った.また,Proceedings Bookの編集を行った.
