Research Abstract

After finishing our work on testing the class of leptoquark models, according to the plan, we have studied the effects of New Physics (NP) in the B->D (D*) tau nu decays using the tau-nu invariant mass q^2 dependence of the differential branching fractions. We have introduced a new quantity R' (q^2) which is quite sensitive to the presence of NP. We have estimated theoretical and statistical errors of this potential measurement at SuperKEKB/Belle-II. The introduced R' (q ^2) has small theoretical and statistical uncertainties and therefore can provide very precise constraints on NP Wilson coefficients. Testing various NP scenarios and performing a chi^2 fit of the simulated data, we have demonstrated that measuring this quantity will allow us to clearly discriminate the scalar and tensor NP operator contributions already after a couple of years of running of Belle-II. These results were presented at KEK Flavor Factory Workshop (February 2014, Tsukuba, Japan) and Rencontres de Moriond (March 2014, La Thuile, Italy).
I also continue my collaboration with E. Kou from LAL (Orsay, France) and A. Ishikawa and Y. Ono from Tohoku University on the study of B->Kpipi gamma decays in Belle experiment at K

Current Status of Research Progress
Current Status of Research Progress

2: Research has progressed on the whole more than it was originally planned.

Reason

The research is going well and according to the plan. As we demonstrated in our work on leptoquark models, several NP scenarios can explain the observed experimental discrepancy simultaneously. Therefore, we proceeded to look for some variable which measurement could help us to distinguish between these scenarios. As we expected, the new introduced quantity R'(q^2) has turned out to be a very good tool for discriminating different NP models in the future Belle-II experiment.

Strategy for Future Research Activity

In the nearest future, we are going to finish the study of the effects of NP in R'(q^2) and publish our results. This can be later extended to the study of the full angular distributions including the further tau decays. Then I plan to start working on constraining the supersymmetric models in the flavour sector, collaborating with the KEK group.
