Research Abstract

In this project the head investigator M. Ninomiya together with the vice investigator H. Kawai and one of the members M. Fukuma applied superstring theory to very early universe and construed cyclic universe theory that tells us before usual big bang there were about 45 times big bang and big crunches. Ninomiya also advocated a unified theory of particle theoretical cosmology and the 2nd law of thermodynamics.
H. Kawai constructed Type IIB matrix theory that is nonpertubative and constructive formulation of superstring theories, together with members of the project, Ishibashi, Kitazawa, Tsuchiya.
M. Kobayashi studied monopoles in the supersymmetric standard model and showed how to construct it Y. Iwasaki in collaboration with S. Aoki et al of computational physics group, Tsukuba University performed calculation by incorporating dynamical quark into QCD which is the first work in the world.
K. Fujikawa showed in the quantum field theory all the geometrical phase stems from holonomy associated with hidden local symmetry.
T. Yoneya has been trying to formulate D-particle in superstring theory as field theory.
