| Research Abstract |
本研究では,フィールドワークを主体とする研究者と,統計モデル構築を専門とする研究者が協力してデータ取得からデータ解析まで一貫しておこなうことで,これまでなし得なかった実測データと統計モデル構築の統合を目指した。具体的な材料として、1.人体に深刻な影響を及ぼすと同時に分子データの蓄積が進んでいるエイズウイルス,インフルエンザウイルス
2.希少種として早急な遺伝資源保護が求められているサクラソウ
3.人類の健康に大きな被害を及ぼすマラリア原虫のベクターであるハマダラカ
4.種多様性の解明の材料として研究が進んでいるバッタの交雑帯
5.保全遺伝学的な検討が重要課題となっている栽培漁業
などを研究対象に据えた。
上記1-3および5は、現代社会において、生物現象の理解と生物保全の具体的方策が緊急に求められているもので、1は豊富なデータベースを利用、2は軽井沢をフィールドとした標本調査と交配実験、3はタイを中心とする東南アジアにおける標本調査とDNA解析、5は国内水産研究機関からの情報収集を行った。4は遺伝的に分化した2種が同所的に生息する交雑帯を分析することにより、種分化と生物多様化のメカニズムを推定するもので、最も研究の進んでいる北スペインにおけるヒナバッタ交雑帯を調査、分析した。本年度はプロジェクト最終年度であるため、最後の取りまとめに大きなウエイトを置いた。野外調査と交配実験には不確実性が絶えずつきまとうため、プロジェクト終盤になってデータが整備され、本格的なデータ解析を待つものも数多く残されたが、別に提出した冊子体報告書に見られるように、初期の目的は十二分に達成されたと自己評価したい。
