Research Abstract |
Multi-unit residential building applied Open Building concept is called "S/I (Skeleton/Infill) house" in Japan, and the number of S/I house construction is on the increase. However, existing infill system is not necessarily suitable for S/I house. This problem is, in most cases, caused by the moot point on the interface of raised floor and partition. In S/I house construction, the raised floor goes ahead of partitions erection, and the raised floor framing supports partitions. This construction increases plumbing flexibility remarkably ; on the other hand it requires shoring up the raised floor directly under the partition with legs, and it decreases partitions layout flexibility. We developed an epoch-making infill system to solve this problem ; raised flooring system with penetrating studs for partitions. Raised flooring and partitions are modular-coordinated, and it promises both plumbing flexibility and partitions layout flexibility. This paper presents detailed concept of the developed infill system and the result of the construction experiments used a full-size infill model.
