Research Abstract |
Growth as parents, transition of the marital relationship and effects of child development were investigated by questionnaire survey, interview and action research for the parenting support. Questionnaire survey was conducted twice. at the time of four months old and one year old of the baby, to the each of the marital couples through the cooperation of the health professionals and agencies. Around 400 subjects responded. The questions of the survey included physical and psychological change after child birth, transiti on of the marital relationships, stress of the daily life and work division between the couple. The results were presented at two conferences; the 10^<th> annual meeting of the Japanese Association of the Child Society (June 2004 at Tsukuba), and the 12th International Congress of Asian Regional Association for Home Economics (August 2004 at Chaing Mai, Thailand). Interview was conducted to the research subjects of the questionnaire sample. It took for an hour for the one or two of the marital couple. The spontaneous interaction between the child and parents were also observed. It is the last year of the three year research project. All the research results were gathered for the analysis of parental growth, marital transition and child development
