Research Abstract	全地球的規模に分布した各観測点での絶対時刻精度を数十m秒以内に保てるGPS衛星信号受信システムを内蔵した信頼性の高い安定した観測データ記録装置を開発し、グローバルな宙空環境変動観測用の半自動記録システムの開発と実用化が本研究の目的であった。この目的を達成することによって、地球規模に配置された50点以上の観測点間の相対的な時間差を1秒以内に確保し、太陽風擾乱により発生したsc/si変動などの過渡現象やDP2やULF波動の侵入過程や電磁圏内の伝播過程を解明・検証することが科学的な目標でもある。平成14年度は、以下の研究計画に従って実施した。先ず、全体会議(全員)及び開発会議を行い、昨年度の成果を元に、データ収録システムを設計した後、電源対策を施し、GPS計時装置を組み入れた、フラッシュメモリーカード(650Mbyte)を記録媒体とするCPU(消耗品費)によるシステムコントロールできうる省電力型の半自動観測記録システムを試作した。次に、試作したGPS付半自動観測記録システムを、210度磁気子午線沿いのシベリア、アラスカ、日本、オーストラリア等の36観測点、磁気赤道域で経度の隔ったブラジル、ペルー、西太平洋、ミクロネシア諸島の12観測点や北米の極冠からオーロラ帯の20観測点からなる観測網の中で、特に設置環境の悪い観測維持の困難な観測1点に新しいGPS付観測記録システムを配備し、データ取得の安定度、データの精度等の確立の為の、実用化システムの性能試験(記録媒体等の消耗品費が必要)を行った。最後に、衛星回線及び電話回線を用いた観測データのオンライン・リアルタイム取得・表示の可能性についての検討を開始した。
