Research Abstract |
Kansai International University launched a "Study Skills" course in 2001. This is a compulsory course consisting of 12 lessons. The aim of the present project is to develop a textbook and classroom materials including worksheets and to prepare relevant resources and manuals for the teachers. In the academic year of 2002, some minor revisions were made to the pilot versions of textbooks, paper and audiovisual materials and teacher's manuals, based on the feedback and suggestions from inside and outside of the project team. The completed series of materials are to be used in the classes in the 2003 academic year. Our activities in the 2002 academic year also included publications of the research results. Dr. Kazumi Uemura gave lectures reporting the results of the project at Konan Women's University and at the meetings of the Japan Universities Association for Computer Education. A research report consisting of nine papers, a CD-ROM, and the proceedings of round-table discussions was published in March 2003.
