| Research Abstract |
The shipwrecked Ryukyuan refugee repatriation system of the Qing Dynasty is fundamentally based on that of the Ming Dynasty, and was further developed into a structured national security system.
Almost all of the provinces along the coast of China encountered incidences of shipwrecked Ryukyuan refugees who drifted ashore.This research investigated the consolation and repatriation system of Ryukyuan refugees under the Qing Dynasty by referring to administrative and diplomatic documents ; Rekidai hoan, Chyuzan seihu, Qingdai Zhongryu guanxi dan-an xuanbian, Qingdai Chongryu guanxi dan-an xubian, Qing shilu, Mingqing dan-an, etc.
This work is divided into two parts.The first part is an essay.It particulaly examines the content of this system and the related admininistrative documentation and distribution processes during the Qing Dynasty.The second part is a database of the consolation and repatriation system of Ryukyuan refugees.It is organized under eight headings ; the date, name of Ryukyuan refugees, the items of consolation, the diposal of ship and loading goods, the number of refugees, etc.
