Research Abstract |
This purpose of this research is to analyze the following 3 subjects about the economic control developed in Japan in the 1930's. It was (1) the social background that the economic control policy emerged with the Great Depression as a turning point, (2) the general and dual structure of the Electric Lamp Industry control, (3) each activity of the industry groups (such as the trade association) and thelabor union, and the cooperation between them in the Electric Lamp Glass hdustry control. As a result of this research, the first, it was cleared the emergence of the control policy and its historical meaning from the relation with a fall in prices under the Great Depression, enterprise activities, social problems and other policies. The second, in the research of the Electric Lamp Industry control, the general and dual structure of it was explained from the view point of "Japan as an empire" where Japan held colonies. The third in the research of the Electric Lamp Glass Industry control, we could get the detailed information about the activities of the industry groups (Tokyo Bulb Association, Tokyo Electric Lamp Glass Industry Association). Especially, it was cleared how the industry groups responded to the problem, which took place by the sales of the surplus bulb to outside customers by Tokyo Electric Corporation. Through this analysis, we could compare the Electric Lamp Glass control with the domestic Electric Lamp control. As for the activities of the labor union, we found historical facts about the general plan of the Electric Lamp Industry control, the electric lamp sales business, and operation of the laborers' self-management factory. Furthermore it was cleared that the labor union enriched the cooperate welfare and imposed sanctions against control violators by keeping in touch with the industry groups, and that these policies worked for the stabilization of the industry and the improvement of the working conditions
