Research Abstract |
We examined the following theoretical analyses in connection with the dynamical structure of the Galaxy, keeping an eye on the highly precise astrometric observations coming out in the future. Furthermore the infrared astrometry satellite plan itself was performed. 1. The origin of the Spiral arms : although the density wave theory is a good candidate which can explain the origin of spiral arms , it is not sure whether it is true or not. We developed a method which can determine whether the density wave is the origin or not by using the information on kinematics of stars which will be taken by high precise astrometric observations. Furthermore we found that a pitch angle might be decided by balance of the influence by bar potential, and pattern of a spiral arm. 2. Since some biases arise when the error of a parallax is large in changing a parallax to a distance, cautions are required. Then we developed a new method which cannot produce biases. 3. Construction of the model of dynamical structure : the method to construct theoretical models of the dynamical structure of the Galaxy was investigated. 4. We analyzed formation and evolution of galaxies in the early stages of the universe, and moreover QSO which might be closely connected with evolutions of galaxies using the semi- analytical method. 5. The infrared astrometry satellite plan was examined. The primitive specification was summarized.
