微化石層序に関するグローバルスタンダードの構築 -T/J境界-

Research Abstract

本年度は、シシリーの国際ジュラ系シンポジウム発表にむけて、我々の研究成果の一部をまとめた。また、それと連動して9月の日本地質学会で研究分担者である松岡が主催してジュラ系をテーマにしたプレシンポジウムを行なった。研究代表者である堀もそのシンポジウムでこれまでの成果を発表した。
この中で堀は、放散虫層序によるT/J境界は、これまで考えられてきたParahsuum simplumの出現ではなく(それはSinemurianであり)、より下位の層準に設定されることを指摘した。ジュラ系最下部階Hettangianは、日本の層状チャートなどの深海堆積物中では、層厚1〜2mに相当することが明らかになった。三畳紀末の放散虫マーカーとしては、Livarella validusやGlobalaxtorum tozeriなどがよい指標種となることを示した。
シシリーの国際ジュラ系シンポジウムでは、研究分担者および海外共同研究者がそれぞれ講演をおこない我々の成果を発表した。
また、11月には海外共同研究者であるElizabeth S. Carter博士を日本に招へいし、沖縄海洋研究センターにて会合を開きそれまでの成果を突き合わせて論文化へむけての準備・議論をおこなった。それと同時に現世放散虫の飼育実験を行ない、殻形態によるT/J境界における絶滅様式の相違問題の解明を検討した。これらの成果の一部は、1月の日本古生物学会例会にて発表し、残りは投稿準備中である。
