Modified " Munoz's depression prevention course" for Japanese elderly, were administered in 60 years and over elderly in nursing home. 28 candidates are screened out by psychiatrical interviews and Mini mental state examination (MMSE under 20 points ). 20 subjects were allocated into participant group and control group. 11 participants have 4 30min-session every week. This intervention is based on cognitive baehavioral approach. Average age of participants group is 81.5, average educational, years is 10,1, average stay periods is 5.3 years, mean MMSE score is 24.5 point. No significant difference is found in demographic data with control group. CESD and HDS scores in participant group are tend to decline after intervention, but only CESD score improved significantly. It is suggested that this useful effects are result from group dynamics
